Size Doesn’t Matter — 4 Comments

  1. Cheryl, this post speaks so loudly to me. I attend a small church also, one that I love with everything in me. But, like you, we always feel we’re on the cusp of growth, but we don’t see it in the numbers. It doesn’t matter. Our hearts are full and our ministry vibrant. I think God is pleased. But it’s so nice to see a post that validates that. Thank you. And blessings to all the little churches out there. Keep on in God’s grace!

  2. Thanks for your comment, Linda. It sounds like your church is very similar to ours. We feel very blessed to be part of such a lovely church family. On the way to my pre-op appointment yesterday, my phone rang. It was one of our elders calling to see if we could pray. So, we prayed together as I was driving to the doctor’s office. What a blessing that was; especially considering my anxiety over my upcoming surgery.

We made the tough choice this year to discontinue VBS. We simply don’t have the numbers and the few children we do have are at totally opposite levels of need: preschool versus tweens/teens. I know God has a plan for our little church, just as much as I know He has a plan for yours.

Thanks again for sharing. Blessings to you and your church family.
