I’m always on the lookout for youth ministry resources. Now that my girls are older, the need to provide more meaningful lessons is important. They are at a critical point in their lives when they could begin to question long-held beliefs as they seek independence from their parents.

The is the life of Jesus told in story format, chapter by chapter, starting with the annunciation to Mary and leading into the early days of the Church. Chapters have timelines to help readers establish dates for when these events occured. The story is made up of a mixture of narrative, discussion questions, and Scripture.

What I really like is that this book makes the life of Jesus more manageable for young readers. Tackling the Gospels and the Book of Acts can be intimidating, but this slender 102-page book breaks them down to the essentials, while the discussion questions engage the reader.

I’m holding off on rating this book until we are done with it, but everything I’ve read so far leads me to believe it will be a highly recommended youth ministry resource.
