Timidy’s mother has told him not to leave the back yard. He thinks it is quite unfair. His friend asks him to go along to the creek, and Timidy decides to go along. He won’t be long so his mother won’t notice he’s missing…will she?
A great lesson about why rules are given, why we should obey our parents, and about temptation.
As in the first book of The Adventures of Peter and Leisel, there are STOP AND THINK sections at the end of each chapter. There is a question about the story for children to answer, and then there is a “What God says in the Bible” verse along with a little devotional about a paragraph long, which I love.
Again there is also the Bible story at the end. This time it is Consequences of Disobedience: Numbers 21:4-9 (Israelites and the Brass Serpent) with the link to our sin and Jesus dying on the cross, which I appreciated.
Pictures are grayscale. I personally prefer colour but I don’t think children will be too bothered. However, they are nicely drawn and are great addition to the story.
A great follow on from The Adventures of Peter and Leisel: A Lesson in Courage.
A series best read in order.
