This has been an exciting week for me. I finished edits for my next book, Amos Faces His Bully. Printed copies have been ordered and the book now appears online at Barnes and Noble and Amazon. This is my fourth children’s book, but the excitement of a new release never gets old.

Like my first book, Little Shepherd, this story places fictional characters into a Biblical setting. In Amos Faces His Bully, ten-year-old Amos learns from David’s battle against Goliath that God can help him face his bully too.

Picture Book Idea Month (now STORYSTORM) is responsible for the birth of this story. This is an annual event that challenges authors to create 30 story ideas over the 31 days of January. Back in 2012, when it was still Picture Book Idea Month, Amos Faces His Bully was the first one I wrote down. It took a while to get it just right, but eventually it was ready to submit to my publisher.

I would also like to thank Jack Foster for his wonderful illustrations. I’ve been a fan of Jack’s work for years. While I had always hoped and prayed we would get a chance to work together, it was a pleasant surprise when I learned he would be illustrating Amos Faces His Bully. 

Lastly, I certainly can’t forget to thank my writers group for their feedback, Guardian Angel Publishing for their continued support, and anyone else who had a hand in bringing Amos Faces His Bully to life.

My sincere hope is that this book touches the hearts of children in a special way.
