Motherhood Shows You How Time Flies
If nothing else, motherhood shows you how quickly time flies.
They start out as little babies, so dependent upon you that you’re certain the days of overloaded diaper bags, being spit up on, and potty training are never going to end.
Then comes those first real activities outside of the house and it’s fun to watch them expand their horizons and develop friendships.
Blink your eyes and suddenly they are starting school.
Maybe they try something new.
The years pass. Friends come and go. There are smiles and tears and hugs and kisses.
Seasons change and clothes are outgrown. They go from Hello Kitty and Hot Wheels to Five Seconds of Summer and makeup.
Some days they fight and other days they get along. There are moments when you feel your heart will explode with love and pride, and other moments when you’re not certain they will make it out of childhood alive.
And even though you are certain you just brought them home from the hospital yesterday, you look up and before your eyes are young men and/or women poised to take on the world.
I don’t know where the years have gone or what the future holds, but motherhood has been and remains an adventure and a blessing.
Happy Mother’s Day!
