The Bad Haircut — 3 Comments

  1. This is superb post, Lindsay. It’s so easy to get wrapped up in our outward appearance. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve begun to hate the huge mirror in our master bathroom. I don’t really want to see that much of myself these days. 🙂

  2. I love this. I just finished three days of people watching from my author’s table at a church conference this week. I too am not into using cosmetics, so when I get into situations situations like this it begins to get to me that other people have gone to a lot of trouble to look nice when I did so little. And then I start worrying about myself.

There is a really cool children’s book that comes with a music CD called “No Mirrors in My Nana’s House.” I just discovered a YouTube version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GD57KULeIgg

  3. Thanks for the responses, ladies. I’ve often wished that we could get rid of make-up altogether. If everyone went with their regular appearance, we could learn to appreciate natural beauty more readily. But seeing as how long make-up has been around, I’m guessing it’s not going anywhere fast.

I really love the “No Mirrors in My Nana’s House” link that you shared. What a lovely concept!
