G is for Grits takes kids through the alphabet with rhymes that introduce readers to southern food, flowers, and past times. From country churches to small farms to good manners, each page emphasizes the value southerners place on families and friendships.
The illustrations show children and adults enjoying activities such as gardening, singing hymns and having a lakeside picnic. I loved the expressive faces of the children and the big, chunky letters on each page. No matter where you live, reading G is for Grits will draw you and your child into the unique culture and charm of the South.
I recommend this colorful book, with its engaging text, for school, public, and church libraries or read-aloud fun at home.
This is my own honest opinion and I received no monetary compensation of any kind for my review.
