Lily’s Easter Party-The Story of the Resurrection Eggs
Lily’s Easter Party is a special story about a young girl and her friends learning about God’s great love for us. Lily’s parents share their faith with Lily and her friends using a unique and “super secret” Easter egg hunt.
The story can be read on its own, but is also written to be used as a companion book to the Resurrection Eggs® created and produced by Family Life Ministry.
The Resurrection Eggs® give parents and Sunday School teachers a creative teaching tool to use with their children. The eggs are packaged in a plastic egg carton and each egg is a different color. Inside each egg is an item which represents something related to the days leading up to Good Friday and Easter. For example, a little donkey is inside of the blue egg. When children open the egg, parents can explain about Palm Sunday when Jesus road into Jerusalem on the donkey. In the pink egg are silver coins which represent the coins Judas received when he betrayed Jesus. The light purple egg contains a silver cup, which represents the cup Jesus used at the last supper. The rest of the colored eggs represent other events that tie into Good Friday and Easter. The final egg is white and it is empty–representing the empty tomb.
By sharing Lilly’s story with the children in your life, you can give them a great and wonderful gift—the true story of Easter in a way that children can understand and remember. Scripture references are also included so you can read the actual account of the events as they are told in God’s Word.
The illustrations are kid-friendly and multicultural. The recommended age is 4-7 (since the items inside the eggs are small, it is not recommended for children under 4 years of age.)
This Easter, enjoy the story of Lily’s Easter Party and the Resurrection Eggs® as you focus on the sacrifice, death, and resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Rejoice! He is risen!
