Let the Whole World Know
Even though it happened several years ago, I will never forget the time I was in the grocery store and I heard a child singing “Jesus Loves Me.” I pushed my cart in the direction of the music and finally found the soloist. A little girl who was sitting in the front of her mother’s cart was belting out the song as loudly as her little lungs allowed her to. I smiled as I watched her sing, and I said to her mother, “That is so precious!” What impressed me was that the mother made no apologies, nor did she try to quiet her daughter’s singing.
Young children are spontaneous and carefree. They have not yet acquired the social inhibitions that keep many of us from being bold and brave with our faith. The little girl was singing a song that was in her heart, and she wanted the whole world to know that Jesus loves her.
Romans 1:16 says, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes.”
I pray that I will always have the boldness of that precious child to let the whole world know that Jesus loves me too!
Here’s to singing in the grocery store!
