From: The Beginner’s Bible series comes – Jesus Feeds the Hungry, by Crystal Bowman.
The author retells the story of the 5 loaves and 2 fish in a simple way that children ages 2-5 will understand and enjoy.
In this retelling story you’ll find that Jesus enjoyed talking with people and telling stories. He loved making sick people well. Jesus would explain to the people to be kind to each other, love one another, love God and do what is right. The people loved listening to Jesus, but sometimes Jesus just needed to rest. He decided he would get some rest by joining His disciples on their boat, but the crowd followed.
Jesus knew it was getting late and there was no food to eat. One of the disciples wanted Jesus to send them away for food and sleep, but Jesus knew exactly what he was going to do. Jesus instructed the disciples to have the people sit in groups of 50. The disciple, Andrew, found a boy who had five loaves of bread and two fish he was willing to share with the people. Jesus did a miracle that day! He multiplied the food for the crowd and had 12 baskets left over. Jesus fed over 5,000 people with the 5 loaves and 2 fish. The people knew that this man was no ordinary man. They fully believed he was the prophet they had been waiting for. After this, Jesus went into the hills for some much needed rest.
You’ll read in:
Mark 6:40-42 – They sat down in groups of hundreds and of fifties. 41– And He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up toward heaven, He blessed the food and broke the loaves and He kept giving them to the disciples to set before them; and He divided up the two fish among them all. 42-They all ate and were satisfied.
I like the simplicity of the book as well as the colorful illustrations, by Cindy Davis.
This is my own honest opinion and I received no monetary compensation for my review.
