How do we set our priorities when it comes to our children’s spiritual lives? How important is it that they get good training? How willing are we to get involved?

Two weeks ago I volunteered to rescue our church’s VBS after it had been abandoned. Only one other church in my denomination was still having VBS in my community–the rest had already abandoned it years ago because they didn’t have enough children to go to the trouble. So I have been beating the bushes to find both children and workers. I feel very frustrated. Many of our regular workers did have valid reasons why they couldn’t help this summer, but surely not everyone.

If our churches don’t have children, they have no future. What are you doing to keep this from happening?
