Sewing with grandchildren
I get few opportunities to spend time with my grandchildren, so I love to find projects we can do together. Erica likes to make outfits for her Felicity American Girl doll, but she has been a little afraid of patterns. So this time we went online to find some free easy doll patterns to sew. I think she did a great job, don’t you?
She made the T-shirt (opens in the back) and pants. We even tried to make shoes, but the first one was too big for her doll. I modified the pattern before I had to leave. I am waiting to hear if she was able to make a pair that fit.
Erica has been saving old clothes to use for making doll clothes, so our expenses were piddles. One of the nice things about learning to sew for dolls is the fact that so little fabric is required and mistakes are not costly. It won’t be long before Erica will be able to make her own clothes.
