After Christmas – DIY Tag Craft
The celebration of Jesus’ birth, Christmas, is a time of lovely songs, Scripture readings, worship services, and a flurry of beautiful cards and gifts. Sometimes the message of the cards almost gets lost in the busy preparation for the big day. Once the gifts have been opened and things start to return to a somewhat normal pace, it is a wonderful time to revisit the message of the cards.
Children of all ages can enjoy using the cards to create gift tags for next year. The craft is a simple one. It only requires the ability to trace and use scissors.
What you will need:
Choose the picture to use on the tag. Trace around the picture using a cookie cutter as a guide.
Trim the picture, and punch a hole in it. Add a ribbon.
Each tag will be special and different because of the cards that are used.
Additional Ideas for Older Children
- Make tags by tracing around the Bible verses on the cards.
- Use the cards to create a prayer box that can be used throughout the year.
What does your family do with Christmas cards after the season?
