Tackling Anxiety with God’s Word
Moments of anxiety can plague just about everyone. Even though I have a great relationship with God, giving my cares up to Him and allowing Him to work things out has never been easy for me.
I find it encouraging to remember some of the many Bible verses that talk about anxiety. Here are a few of my favorites. May you find them helpful in tackling your own cares and concerns.
Isaiah 41:10 Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.
Philippians 4:6-7 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Psalms 94:19 When the cares of my heart are many, your consolations cheer my soul.
Matthew 6:26 Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?
Matthew 6:34 Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
