Don’t Throw Your Toys
How many times was God going to have to remind me to trust Him? How many times had He shown me that He was worthy of my trust? I felt foolish for struggling with the same challenge to my faith again. He had led me through the same obstacles so many times before, providing for all of my needs each step of the way.
It made me think of the birthday party I had attended recently. The star of the day was Caleb, a beautiful two-year-old who was so full of energy that he couldn’t help but do everything with gusto. How many times had I reminded him, “Caleb, don’t throw your toys.” But it’s his nature, just like it’s my human nature to struggle with fear and doubt.
How many times has God reminded me, “Trust Me”? I know Caleb has a lot of growing left to do, and I know he’ll need reminded again and again not to throw his toys. I have a lot of growing left to do, and I’ll need reminded again and again to trust my Father. But Caleb will learn, just like I will learn.
Thank You, Father, for being so patient with me.
