A Martyr’s Christmas
Around the world, families are preparing to celebrate Christmas, displaying Nativity scenes, and making precious memories with their families. But in many parts of the world, families can do none of that. They must follow Christ in secret, sometimes even keeping their faith from their families or risk beatings or worse.
In so many places, Christians are not free to celebrate Christmas or acknowledge their faith publicly and do so privately at great risk. This year, you can share a gentle reminder to pray for these families with your children with this free Christmas unit study, A Martyr’s Christmas. It sensitively shares stories of Christians from Colombia, India, Turkey, and Algeria who faced persecution at Christmastime. It also shares activities related to the stories to help children learn about the Bible, history/geography, language arts, math, science, physical education, and home economics. Most importantly, it shares ways kids can pray for the persecuted Christians in these lands. Help your children learn about those who desperately need our prayers this Christmas.
