Snow Day Reading Fun
I must admit that I LOVE snow. However, a mom confided in me that snow days are not always the best days. Maybe it is too cold to play outside. Maybe there have been lots of snow days, and everyone longs for the usual routine. Maybe the kids miss their friends.
Why not pack a snow day survival kit?
A snowy day can be a golden opportunity to have reading fun. Even the best snowman-making and sledding days call for breaks inside.
Here is what you will need.
- A bag for each child (backpack, gift bag, plain old bag from the store)
- A selection of books (new ones or old favorites)
- A few special snacks or a “lunch”
- Hot chocolate fixings (packets, marshmallows, candy canes for stirring)
- Warm socks
- A flashlight
- A blanket to make a reading tent
What would you add to the snow day reading kit?
I know that many of our readers our in a huge snowstorm this weekend. The Christian Children’s Authors pray that you and your families are warm, safe, and enjoying some great books together!
