Thanksgiving Fun for Christian Families
It is already November! I can’t believe that fall is going so quickly, but Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays. I love to gather with my family and thank God for His many blessings. I love the anticipation of Christmas and the celebration of Jesus’ birth.
I also enjoy reading on social media about the many things and people that others are thankful for. Some post gratitude for one thing or one person a day the entire month. What a great tradition! It reminds me of this verse.
I thank God every time I remember you.
Philippians 1:3
Why not use the tradition of a month of gratitude to focus only on the people your family is thankful for?
Why not cover the refrigerator with those names?
WHAT YOU NEED
- Construction paper in fall colors
- Pencils
- Scissors
- Masking tape or painter’s tape
HOW TO DO IT
- Have each family member make 30 “leaves” by tracing around their hands.
- Cut out the leaves
- Each day, ask a child to read Philippians 1:3 aloud.
- Let each family member say the name of a person for whom they are thankful.
- Write each name on a “leaf”.
- Tape the leaves to the refrigerator.
November is an especially great month for activities with the family. Check out A Thanksgiving Activity for Families for more ideas.
Blessings on you and your family,
Carol
