Bible Verse Activities for Kids-Ephesians 4:26 and Matthew 22:39
“Be ye angry, and sin not.” Ephesians 4:26 (KJV)
“Thous shalt love they neighbour as thyself.” Matthew 22:39 (KJV)
At first glance, these two verses don’t seem to have much to do with each other, but as I thought about them, I realized something. Loving our neighbor seems simple enough–until he or she makes us mad. Then, suddenly, we can think of so many reasons not to love.
This seems to happen to siblings all the time. They can be loving each other and enjoying a book together one minute and so angry they are throwing things the next because one did something that made the other angry.
Those are the times when loving seems the hardest but is possibly the most important. It’s critical for them to know that God’s love for them, and our love for them, is stronger than any anger. Let’s help the children in our lives understand how to respond with love when someone makes us angry, even if it means walking away for a few minutes to process it.
