Three Day After Christmas Activities
Can’t the day after Christmas be a bit a bummer? You spend weeks waiting for Christmas to come, and then it’s over in a few hours.
Here are three ways to extend the spirit of the Christmas season.
Share with each other (or write down) what you are grateful for receiving
Whether it was a special gift you hoped for, something meaningful a member of your family said or did, or a new or time-honored family tradition, express your thanks. There is always something to be thankful for this time of year, especially the great gift of a Savior.
Keep the giving going
We can get so caught up in Christmas that we forget giving at other times of the year. Whether we are giving a gift or giving of our time or talents, carry that giving attitude through today and into the new year. Can you help your parents clean the house? Can you visit someone who is unable to drive? Can you take out the dog even if it isn’t your turn?*
Cookie/Dessert Swap
If Christmas dinner at your place is anything like ours, you have way too many desserts left over. Gather a variety of extra cookies or desserts and visit a neighbor. Offer to swap some of yours for some of theirs. It’s a great way to add variety. Even if they don’t have anything to share, they will be happy you thought about them.*
* Make sure you ask your parent’s permission.
