Celebrating God’s Design for Boys and Girls
In a day of gender confusion, it’s a joy and a relief to feature these two titles which I bought during our homeschool years. Written with a conversational tone, with thoughtful questions at the end, these little books can be a springboard for conversation with the family.

Where have the values gone?
Virtues and values have gone by the wayside these days. It’s just not popular. There is downright hostility towards a biblical view of the sexes. No clear distinction which can be (and is) not only confusing but stressful for children. Not so with these two gems. Take a look at the table of contents:
A topic for discussion with the family
So many needful topics to discuss openly. And not everyone will agree 100% with every point, but it will certainly spark conversation! Below is an example of questions that end each short chapter:
I also found this while searching online: Fifty-two Story Talks for Boys and Girls from Gutenburg. You can find the books here: Talks to Girls and Talks to Boys. And here is an insightful article from Focus on the Family. If you enjoy audiobooks, try this: Family Driven Faith.
Whether you are a parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle or friend, these resources are a great way to engage with the boys and girls in your life.
Vive la différence!
Your review made me think of another book that teaches Christian values: Big Thoughts For Little People by Kenneth Taylor. I had this book when my 40 year old was born! Still in print, in its 5th edition, and written by the founder of Tyndale House Publishing who passed away in 2005 at the age of 88. May books like these always have a place on our bookshelves. Thanks for sharing!
Yes, I read that book to my kids, too! Great suggestion. Thanks for sharing it with us, Karen!
These values are so needed in today’s mixed up culture. Thank you for sharing these great resources.
You are welcome, Janice! I love these little books.☺️
Thank you for sharing this Jarm! We need to hold fast to truth while the world goes in a dangerous direction.
Amen! That is so true, Crystal!! It is certainly a challenge.
It’s wonderful to learn about these resources, thank you!
My pleasure, Bonnie. It’s so important to speak God’s truth to young people these days!
Thank you for these value-rich books, Jarm! As a former Love & Logic trainer, a loving relationship with our children is an incredible foundation for discipline and speaking into our children’s lives later on…especially when this topic comes up. Pointing them to what God says is key, as strongly suggested in your books.
Glad you found them insightful, Sharon, and a way to foster dialogue with children. Yes, God’s truth needs to be front and center in our conversations.☺️
Jarm, what a wonderful resource you are for books on biblical values. I’m looking forward to checking these out!
You are welcome, Nancy! I have so many left over from our homeschooling days. Never got to read these to the kids, unfortunately. We had ‘so many books and so little time’. 😉
