Praying with Children
One of the greatest opportunities we have as children is to share our faith and rise children to follow Jesus. Throughout the day we can say short prayers with our children to thank God for thee day, ask for help or forgiveness, and pray for other people.
Family Prayer Ideas
Gathering together on a regular basis allows up to really focus on prayer. How we do that can vary. We can read scriptures, discussing them, and then praying to develop the good qualities we see in the account read. We can take a nature walk and pause to thank God for all he made or pray for the need for the earth to be renewed when we spot problems. We can use aa familiar acrostic like ACTS to remember to adore God, confess sins, thank God for blessings, and supplicate (ask) for God to care for the needs of others and ourselves.
Try New Ways to Prayer
You can also try new ways to pray. That might include saying a praise to God and blowing a kiss to send the praise to heaven or prying and then quietly listening to scriptures or thoughts From God and sharing those (and make sure they agree with scriptures).
You can go around the table and let each person share a prayer need and a blessing received and have the next person pray for what the person shared.
Spin a globe and let one person stop it with a finger. Look up the country under or nearest the finger. Check out facts about the land and people as well as their faith. Pray the people who live there.
Study How Jesus Prayed
Look up verses of Jesus praying and chat about what happened.
Jesus prayed in the evening in Matthew 14:23. Share about where and who was with him. Talk about a place where family members can pray alone or with others. In Mark 1:35 Jesus prayed early in the morning before sunrise. Talk about your family going outside to pray at different times of dy. Try it!

In Matthew 14:19 Jesus thanked God for the food they had to share. God multiplied the food. Discuss miracles as well as praying at meals.
IN John 17:9 we hear what Jesus prayed. He prayed for others and not himself. Chat about praying for one another nd people you know who need God’s help. Pray for those people.
