Old Testament Days: An Activity Guide
What era of history will your children be studying this year? If they’ll be digging deep into ancient history or the history of Bible times, I’d like to recommend a personal favorite of mine, OLD TESTAMENT DAYS.
Okay. I’ll admit it. I’m a little biased. After all, I wrote the book! But you don’t have to take my word for it. OLD TESTAMENT DAYS is on the recommended reading list in such books as The Well-Trained Mind by Jessie Wise and Susan Wise Bauer.
What’s so great about Old Testament Days? For starters, it’s got tons of hands-on activities to engage elementary-age kids in history. Create an Egyptian throwing stick or a colorful paddle doll! Construct musical instruments and play a rattle called a sistrum or a drum called a timbrel. Sample what people ate by making lentil stew and “locust” biscuits. (Okay, they won’t eat actual locusts!)
When I wrote the book I made and cooked and created every single craft and historic-based activity in the book. I sent a sample of each activity to my editors in boxes. Multiple boxes. Multiple BIG boxes. The editors had so much fun opening up and exploring the boxes that arrived at their desk!
I had so much fun learning (and writing) about Bible times and I know your kids will, too! Plus, everything is presented with a biblical worldview. So whether you homeschool, teach in a Christian or public school, work in children’s ministry, or just want to have fun learning about Bible times with your kids, you’ll love getting this book today!

“Digging Deep;” “Exploring!”
I just love the sounds of what this book is all about!
Please couple it with Victor Discovers Treasure, 45 Daily Devotional Digs for Kids! It explores the metaphors in Scripture!
Thank you, Nancy! As a former Christian school teacher this would have accompanied my curriculum beautifully!
I teach high school Bible. A friend gave me a couple of jars of dried locust from the holy land. The kids loved trying them. We did keep a trash can nearby. Ha!
