I’m excited to be able to share with you a new set of worksheets to help your preteens and teens learn about the life of Moses. If you’ve missed any of our previous studies, you can find links to all of them at the end of the post. Moses is one of the most significant people in the Old Testament. His story is part of a critical period in the history of the people of Israel. God used him in many ways at a key point in His redemptive plan for humanity. Let’s take a closer look at the beginning of his story and help the preteens and teens in our lives learn more about Moses and the part he played in God’s plan.

This set of activities begins with the birth of Moses in Exodus 1 and follows his early life through God’s appearance at the burning bush and the worsening of conditions for the enslaved Hebrews in Egypt.

The activities encourage kids to take a closer look at how God used the unique upbringing Moses had as well as the long period Moses worked for his father-in-law to prepare him to lead the people out of Egypt. It challenges them to think critically about this as well as why they think the pharaoh did what he did. It also challenges them to look deeper at the parallels between the deliverance God used Moses to bring about and the deliverance Jesus later accomplished.

Other activities include answering reading comprehension questions, solving a matching puzzle, and completing a word puzzle. Students can choose key verses from the passages to memorize and also summarize what they read.
