Time to enjoy God’s Harvest Blessings
Fall is the perfect time for family field trips! With apples crisp on trees, pumpkin and scarecrows filling fields, and trees decked out in glorious color, now is the time to head outdoors. But don’t forget to include fall-themed books.
One of our family favorite fall books is:
P IS FOR PUMPKIN: God’s Harvest Alphabet
written by Kathy-jo Wargin with illustrations by Yawen Ariel Pang
Zondervan Kidz 2008
This sweet picture book focuses on the autumn wonders that God has created. This beautiful book invites children to journey through the alphabet as they explore the world around them. This is a great book to use throughout the season as a scavenger hunt encouraging children to discover the sights, sounds, smells, and tastes of fall. I love that the focus is on the blessings that God gives us during the harvest season.
The test is written in rhyme which is perfect for reading aloud and the illustrations are filled with warm reds, yellows, oranges, and browns and include a diverse group of children enjoying fall activities.
For added fun, copy and paste this scavenger hunt to use when you are out discovering God’s harvest blessings:
