Fresh Starts
Leading up to the start of a new year, some people begin making New Year’s resolutions: to eat better, to exercise, to stop smoking or to lose weight. We are looking for the promise that a fresh start brings. Just like Miss Stacy told Anne Shirley, “Tomorrow is always fresh, with no mistakes in it,” we seek a do over to improve our lives.
This reminds me of the fresh start we have thanks to the gift of our Savior. Because Jesus came down to earth, died, and rose again, we have a fresh start with God. We are once again able to experience the gift of eternal life.
As we write down our resolutions this year, let us not forget the sacrifice of our Savior. Let us commit ourselves in 2015 to living a life that honors and glorifies Him.
