Revelation 21:5 – Behold, I make all things new.
Butterflies are so beautiful! Graceful! Majestic! They are one of my favorite creatures God ever made.
Recently we purchased our own ‘Painted Lady’ caterpillars that came in the mail. Our son, Caleb, was very excited to see just how these caterpillars were going to amazingly become butterflies. What an experience it was! God is truly AMAZING! We got to see everything happen right in our own home in a butterfly basket (I guess you could say). From: egg – caterpillar – pupa/chrysalis – adult emerging into a beautiful butterfly. Wow! Then 4 to 5 days later, it was time to let them go and explore the world around them.
This book that Karen has written delights my heart. She tells a story about a little caterpillar named Cody who lives in a land of Better-than-Brown. Cody felt that his life was boring. He thought there had to more to his life than eating and eating, sitting and sleeping. So, one day as Cody was crawling around he looked up and heard from Beulah Lee Bird, “Have faith!” She told Cody that God had plans for him . Plans to have him fly to a beautiful place called Far Flutterby.
Well, Cody wanted to go there but he had to have patience, said Franny McFly. A beautiful butterfly that came soaring by. Eager to go to Far Flutterby, he strapped on some leaves and started to fly. Cody fell to the ground and began to frown. He’s tired of feeling like Better-than-Brown. He wanted to be blue, yellow and gold like Fanny McFly, and live in a place called – Far Flutterby.
God’s plans for Cody were about to take place when Cody became dizzy and began to feel strange. Wrapped in a sticky cocoon, Cody hung upside down. There he stayed till one sunny day. Cody felt something new and different. He started to shake and wriggle about, but he was stuck and struggling to get out. He then remembered God’s plan for him was good and to have faith. So, Cody finished the struggle and was finally free! Cody shed his old body and received a new one. A lighter, more beautiful body with bountiful wings!
Remember – the struggle, the struggle is what gives you wings ~ ( said by Karen Kingsbury)
Great book for kids 4 -7.
This is my own personal opinion and I received no monetary compensation of any kind for my review.
