Review of Be Thankful: Cultivating Year-Round Thankfulness
Our society has been plagued by a disease … the disease of instant gratification. This disease tends to get worse in the weeks and days leading up to Christmas. Thankfully, Amanda Pelser has developed a resource to help you walk alongside your children and help them develop an attitude of gratitude. Be Thankful: Cultivating Year-Round Thankfulness .
Be Thankful: Cultivating Year-Round Thankfulness is a Bibically based eBook that you can use to teach your children the whys and hows of developing an attitude of thanksgiving. One of the things I like about this study is that it requires you to look at the Greek/Hebrew word for thanks. Other great things about this study include its flexibility (i.e., you can use it with children as young as four to adults); it is dependent on the Bible (i.e., you are not given the author’s interpretations of scripture but are asked to look at each verse for yourself). It consists of two parts, divided into nine Chapters:
Part One: What? Why? How?
What is Thanks?
Why Give Thanks to God?
How Should You Give Thanks to God?
Part Two: For What Things Should We Give Thanks to God?
God’s Character
His Steadfast Love
History, Deeds, and Answered Prayers
For Those Around Us
Life and Salvation
An Attitude of Thankfulness
The book ends with an Appendix of resources including a Be Thankful Journal and several different choices for handwriting practice: tracing printing, cursive, and regular printing.
That is all for now.
Continue to pray for me as I pray for you, Corine
