Science is Finally Catching Up
Have you ever heard that educated people – the ones who believe in science – can’t possibly believe the Bible?
Uh-huh. I thought so. Well, guess what? Science has been gradually catching up to the Bible. They still have a long way to go, but consider just a few examples:
The earth is suspended in space
Ancient Greek mythology explained the location of the earth by saying that the sphere of the earth rested on Atlas’s shoulders.
But in Job 26:7 (NIV) the Bible says, “He spreads out the northern skies over empty space; he suspends the earth over nothing.”
Identification of jetstreams
Jetstreams were first identified in 1883, and confirmed in the 1920s and again in 1933. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jet_stream
But the Bible makes a reference to the circular flow of the wind in Ecclesiastes 1:6 (NASB), “The wind blows to the south and turns to the north; round and round it goes, ever returning on its course.”
Springs in the sea
Scientists first observed deep sea springs in 1973.
But the Bible mentions them in several places, including Job 38:16 (NIV), “Have you journeyed to the springs of the sea?”
And more recently:
Humanity descended from a single species
In 2005, “Skull 5” in the Republic of Georgia was discovered. Eight years later, in 2013, scientists published an article in Science stating their discovery points to one lineage for all humanity. Hmmm, sounds a lot like the Genesis account of Adam and Eve!
Neurobiologist Christoph Zollikofer, at the University of Zurich, was part of the team that analyzed the skull. He observed, “You can feel in your brain how all these preconceived ideas you had start falling to pieces.”
Of course, some in the scientific community say the skull is 1.8 million years old. Other scientists disagree with those conclusions. But give them time. The Bible has yet to be proven wrong by any scientific law (evolution doesn’t count since it’s only a theory, not a law). Science will eventually catch up there, too…unless Jesus returns first!

I love how science is finally catching up with the Bible, don’t you?
