A Child’s Book Review
Recently, we posted ideas for helping Christian children’s authors. Book reviews are an effective way to get impressions and ideas from reader to potential reader. Usually, we think of adults writing book reviews to post on Amazon, websites, and social media.
Can a child write a book review?
School-aged children write book reviews when they write book reports. They include what they liked about the book and a summary of the events.
Very young children can also “write” book reviews via pictures that they draw. They might draw a favorite page from the book or an idea spawned by the book. For example, a book about giving might prompt the child to draw a picture about giving to a friend or family member.
Where could a child’s book review be shared?
Here are a few places that a child or preteen’s book review could be shared:
- As a quote in a parent’s review on Amazon
- As a post on a parent’s social media
- Displayed in a Christian bookstore or church library
- On an author’s website
- Tucked inside a copy of the book as a gift
We are interested in the ideas and opinions of our peers. Children and preteen are no different.
Which Christian book would your child recommend to a friend?
