Summer Birthdays
Summer Birthday Fun
I have several friends who have birthdays in June. I myself am a June baby. When I was a child, for my birthday, I remember going to the lake, swimming with friends, throwing water balloons, and having a BBQ complete with a homemade vanilla cake! I always felt bad for my best friend, though, because her birthday was in January. Her birthdays tended to be disappointing for her because the weather was usually cold and dreary and because her mom and dad generally did not have any extra money left over for birthday gifts so soon after the Christmas season. Of course, as she grew older, she came to realize that her parents had already given her the best gift of all, the gift of faith.
Still, most kids absolutely love to celebrate their birthdays, and summer birthdays can be extra fun. Here are some exciting party ideas to help you celebrate your child’s special day, the day the Lord allowed them to become a part of their earthly family and hopefully their spiritual family as well!
DIY Colored Powder
Kids love to run through colored powder and throw it up in the air. Follow the link below to learn how you can make safe colored powder at home. Just make sure that the colored powder doesn’t somehow end up in your pool!

Bonfire Birthday
A bonfire birthday party is a great way to spend quality time outdoors with friends and family. For older kids, consider turning the bonfire party into a camping party. Be sure to get the s’mores and hot dogs ready!
A Cool Pool Party on a Hot Day!
Water-themed pool parties are a lot of fun, especially on a hot day! Just grab your swimsuit and water toys. For extra fun, turn the pool party into a luau-themed birthday celebration, complete with grass skirts, tropical fruit, and maybe even a tropical-themed cake!
We All Scream for Ice Cream
On a hot summer day, everyone loves ice cream, cool pops, and snow cones! Beat the heat with a frozen-treat party. Kids love to make their own snow cones and ice cream sundaes!
Whatever choice you make, don’t forget to end the day with prayer. Be sure to encourage your child to give thanks to the Lord for their fun-filled day!
