Danny the Dragon
My friend and fellow author, Robert Z. Hicks (I call him Bob), has written several picture books for children. His latest release, Danny the Dragon, is another gem in the Robert Z. Hicks collection.
Unlike other dragons, Danny preferred making friends with the animals of the forest. He had no desire to scare others with a fiery flame. The other dragons made fun of Danny for being gentle and kind. One day, when trouble comes to the forest, Danny bravely faces the challenge while the other dragons flee. Danny becomes a hero while the other dragons learn an important lesson.
The text is written in whimsical rhythm and rhyme, which young children will enjoy. A discussion guide with questions will jump start conversations between adults and children, and will also help children with reading comprehension.
Colorful, full-page art by Ashley Otis adds depth to the story and will stimulate the reader’s imagination. Dragons are always exciting characters, and Danny does not disappoint!
Danny the Dragon will be a favorite book in school and family libraries.
I give it 5 smiles! 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂
