Bible Verse Activities for Kids-Psalm 138:1 and 119:11
The Psalms, and all of God’s Word, have a lot to say about our hearts. We are taught to guard it, praise God with it, hide God’s Word in it, and many other things. Let’s help the kids in our lives see how some of these commands work together while helping them hide two verses from Psalms in their hearts.
Psalm 119:11 says, “Thy word have I hid in my heart, that I might not sin against thee” (KJV). How can we know what is right and what is wrong if we don’t have God’s Word stored in our hearts to teach us? The world has endless opinions, but only God’s Word is absolute Truth that will not change with the times or the culture. Only God has the authority to tell us what is right and what is wrong.
When children, and each of us, hide God’s Word in our hearts, something else is a natural result. We praise Him. The more we read and understand Who He is, the more we let His Word soak into every thought and every area of our lives, the more we want to praise Him. Hiding His Word in our hearts is how we abide in Him (John 15), and the more we are with Him, the more we will want to praise Him.
Let’s help the kids in our lives commit these two verses to heart with some fun puzzles and activities, and let’s encourage them to continue to hide God’s Word in their hearts so that love and praise for Him naturally bubbles up and overflows.
