Free Cut and Paste Bible Verse Fun: Verses About Rest
I’m not good at resting. My To Do list always seems to be screaming at me, and part of me always feels like there is something I should be doing. But that’s not what Jesus says, and when it comes down to how I feel or what He says, there’s no question which of us is right.
Jesus called His followers away from the burdens of the world, but He also called them away from doing kingdom work at times. There was a time to work and be busy for Him, and there was a time to simply be with Him. And in those times of being with Him, they could learn how to set down the burdens of the world and rest.
Kids aren’t often known for being fans of rest. Whether it’s nap time, bedtime, or just down time, they often resist it. It’s important to help them learn not just when to take a physical break but when to take a heart and mind break, to pause from what they want to be doing or even need to be doing and focus their attention on Jesus. It’s a habit they will have the chance to practice for the rest of their lives.
This fun FREE Cut & Paste Bible Verse Fun unit focuses on verses about rest – Matthew 11:28-29 and Mark 6:31.
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. Matthew 11:28-29
And He said unto them, “Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while”: for there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat. Mark 6:31
There are fun puzzles, pictures your kids or students can draw and color, ways to practice handwriting, and more in this unit.
