Let’s Celebrate Earth Day!
I love the great big beautiful world God created! The sweet trill of the song sparrow greets me each morning. The yellow daffodils smile cheerily from their perches atop the hill in our back yard. The worms wriggle hello and the fresh smell of wholesome dirt refreshes me as I dig up the winter crop of celery in our garden here in southern California. From whales to penguins to polar bears I find delight in all God’s amazing creatures. And after a magnificent sunset where even the air glows reddish orange, I look up in the night sky to find Orion, marveling at God’s amazing handiwork.
Yes, I love the earth because I love our God, the One Who created it all. And I get excited about opportunities to pass this appreciation for the wonders of creation on to the next generation.
This time of year, there are so many fun opportunities to celebrate all things nature! The first day of Spring. Earth Day. Arbor Day. As a Christian, however, it’s essential that we choose books and resources and activities that support a biblical worldview. Here are some I recommend.
These 5 books in the picture at the top of this post are written and published by the Institute for Creation Research. They are amazing!!

Here is a resource I created. These are a set of mini-books that teach preschoolers and early elementary learners basic facts about animals all around the world.
