Devotions for Little Scientists
“Perhaps you’ve asked what it’s called when a big tornado mixes with a blazing wildfire (spoiler alert: it’s called a firenado!)” Now that should get any child’s attention.
Has Louie Giglio gotten your attention? A friend of mine introduced Pastor Louie’s devotions to us during our morning devotion time at our workplace. He has a six-year-old son who loves for Dad to share these devotions with him and it’s no wonder.
- The introduction explains the types of devotions: Space, Earth, Animals, and People
- Each devotion is written in a kid-friendly voice.
- It begins with scripture from a child-friendly Bible.
- The opening immediately hooks the reader with science.
- A scriptural application is made using the science.
- There’s always a prayer at the end to go along with the application.
- A sidebar has extra cool facts about the topic.
- The illustrations are fun and kid-friendly.
And if your Little Scientist can’t get enough, there’s another book, Indescribable by, you guessed it, Louie Giglio with Nicola Anderson as the illustrator. One of my favorites in this devotional is “All Creation Sings”. This one describes the songs the stars sing. Whales also sing. Pastor Louie made a YouTube video so the reader/listener can hear the mix of stars and whales singing together. How cool is that? No wonder I now own both books and can’t wait for the opportunity to share them with my grandchildren. I think your children or grandchildren will enjoy these devotions as well.
