Bible Verse Word Puzzles, Vol. 17: 3 John-Revelation
We’ve come to the end of our series of Bible Verse Memorization Word Puzzles. We’ve journeyed from Genesis 1:1-5 through Revelation 21:4, 6, from God’s creation of the world to when all the old things have passed away in His new creation. The world will constantly challenge us, and the children in our lives, about the Word of God. In order to live it and in order to share a defense of it, we first must know what it says. That is what I hope these word puzzles can help kids do in some small way – commit more of God’s Word to their hearts.
Puzzles and games make memorizing more fun and help us hang onto what we learn longer. The more time we spend with something, the easier it is to remember it. Can you remember random facts you learned in high school? Generally speaking, I know I can’t. But I can rattle off a quote from a favorite television show or movie just because of a word or phrase that brings it to mind. What’s the difference? Often it’s time spent. A few moments in high school can’t compare with something I’ve watched every year since I can remember. But can I bring God’s Word to mind as easily? The only way to memorize it is to spend time with it and make it part of ourselves. I hope the crossword puzzles, handwriting practice, math puzzles, and other activities help your kids enjoy time spent committing God’s Word to heart. All quotations are from the King James Version of Scripture. Don’t miss this BONUS free resource I have for you – a copybook where kids can write favorite verses they are studying to help them commit the verses to heart.
The following verses are included in our final unit of Bible Verse Memorization Word Puzzles:
“For I rejoiced greatly, when the brethren came and testified of the truth that is in thee, even as thou walkest in the truth. I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.” 3 John 1:3-4
“Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life . . . Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, to the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen. ” Jude 1:21, 24-25
“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away . . . And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.” Revelation 21:4, 6
I hope to return later this summer with a new series of Bible-themed activities for kids!
