Five Books Perfect for Celebrating Birthdays
I love March because it’s my birthday month. Each year that passes reminds me of God’s many blessings. Plus, no no matter what my age, abilities, and shortcomings, every new celebration reminds me that I am perfectly and wonderfully made. We all are! With that in mind, I decided to highlight five books perfect to share with your child on their birthday.
God Made Us! by Link Dyrdahl is a board book for the very young. Each page hosts one short sentence paired with an adorable animal picture, reminding the reader just how different and special they are.
I’m So Glad You Were Born: Celebrating Who You Are by Ainsley Earhardt is just what the title promotes—a celebration of life. Inspired by Scripture, this book encourages love and hope.
I Prayed for You by Jean Fischer works well for young ones. It shows a mother talking to her child, explaining how, even before they were born, they were covered in prayer. It’s a wonderful message for any child about love and belonging.
Ten Rules of the Birthday Wish by Beth Ferry isn’t a Christian based book, but it’s hilarious and so much fun. The friendly pictures and goofiness will bring a smile to any face.
When God Made You by Matthew Paul Turner is a precious book that reminds readers that God crafted them perfectly one of a kind. I love the whimsical illustrations in this book too.
Do you agree with my choices, or do you have another book you might recommend? Please let me know in the comments.
So, let’s make the precious children in our lives feel loved on their birthday!
And… if you want to make my birthday special, please pick up a copy of my novel Inside the Ten-Foot Line. It took the silver medal in the young adult category presented by the Illumination Book Awards for exemplary Christian books. For a limited time, you can buy it at a discount from Christianbooks.com or purchase it from Amazon. Besides a review, purchasing a book is the best birthday gift you can give an author—no matter what their age. (Did I mention I’m 28 for the third decade in a row?!)
Happy, happy!
