FREE Studying the Life of Isaac for Preteens and Teens
As we continue our series of FREE resources to help preteens and teens learn from the lives of some of the incredible men and women in the Bible, the next patriarch to learn about is Isaac. His life was far from ordinary, and there is much we can learn from his story today. (If you missed Studying the Life of Abraham, Parts One and Two, you can grab them below.)
This set of activities focuses on the parts of Isaac’s story shared in Genesis 22, 24-25 beginning with when God commands Abraham to sacrifice Isaac and continuing with Isaac’s story through his marriage to Rebekah and the birth of Jacob and Esau.
The activities begin by helping students look closer at the story of Abraham and Isaac’s journey to Moriah and how God provided once they arrived. It continues by encouraging students to discover the significance of Moriah elsewhere in the Old Testament.
Other activities include a decoding activity, word search, and true and false. The true and false adds an extra twist so simply guessing the right answer is not enough. Students also have to correct false statements to make them true. Students can choose key verses from the passages to memorize and also summarize what they read.
I hope the children in your lives enjoy learning more about Isaac. Be sure to let me know in the comments who’d they’d like to study in the months to come!
