God’s Earth is Something to Fight For
Do you believe that we have a responsibility to take care of God’s magnificent creation? If so, you will love this new picture book written by Amy Houts and illustrated by Kris Smolskaya. It will be released in September, 2023, but it is currently available for pre-order.
I had the privilege of previewing this beautiful book and I am excited to share about it. I love the color palette and eye-appealing illustrations. Amy masterfully combines Scripture throughout the pages and has a special way of breaking down complex topics so that the youngest readers can understand.
You will read about the Creation account from the Bible and how God created us with free will. She explains what pollution is and how it affects climate change. I also appreciated that she mentioned that this is not a fight with our fists, but rather with our voice, times, talents, or smiles.
The book emphasizes the importance of prayer, faith, and depending on the Lord . The back matter expands the theme and includes practical tips for how your family can reduce your carbon footprint and be good stewards of the Earth. This is one of the first picture books I have seen on this topic written from a Christian world view. Check it out!
