Three Fantastic Books to Help You Celebrate Valentine’s Day
Celebrating different holidays offers a great opportunity to spend quality time with your children and build lasting memories. Reading picture books together and then connecting those books with discussions, activities, crafts, and snacks is loads of fun! Here are three titles that you will want to use with the children in your life during the season of Valentine’s Day!
I Love You Like No Otter written by Rose Rossner and illustrated by Sydney Hanson is the perfect board book for your toddler and is sure to make you both smile! It is loaded with animal puns like “Whoo loves you” (owl), “I seal it with a kiss” (seal), “We bee-long together” (bee), “You make me very hoppy” (bunny), and more! The illustrations will melt your heart!
Nothing by Natalie Creech and illustrated by Joseph Cowman is a powerful picture book that illustrates the truth of Romans 8:38-39. If you want to help the children in your life grow in their understanding of God’s unconditional love, this is the book for you!
Valentine’s Day Treats by Tara Knutson and illustrated by Pauline Stewart is the perfect board book to turn any average day into a party! The book depicts making fancy valentines and sharing delicious goodies! As a young mom, some of my favorite memories are of times I set a small table with fancy placemats and treats, transforming an ordinary day into something special.
I would love to hear about how you used these three books to help you and your child celebrate Valentine’s Day! I would also love to hear what other books are your favorites when it comes to the theme of Valentine’s Day!
