The story of Moses and the Israelites he led out of Egypt is a story a person could study for a lifetime. We won’t spend quite that much time in the story, but this month, we are continuing our closer look at the events shared in Exodus and the lessons God has for us today. This resource is designed to help you help the preteens and teens in your life read the story carefully and thoughtfully, dig into the details, and learn from what God has recorded for us in the Bible. If you’ve missed any part of our study, you can find links to all of them at the end of the post.

This set of activities begins with the final plague God brought on Egypt and His institution of Passover. It explores some of the ways Passover pointed ahead to the ultimate deliverance from judgment Jesus would accomplish for all people who believe in Him. It continues to follow the story of Moses and the Israelites through God’s provision of manna in the desert.

The activities encourage kids to take a closer look at the tenth plague, some of the rules God gave regarding Passover, how God led the people, the crossing of the Red Sea, and God’s provision of manna and quail. It challenges them to think critically about God’s faithfulness in keeping His promises, connections between the Passover lamb and Jesus, and trusting God for all our needs.

Other activities include answering reading comprehension questions, solving a word puzzle, and completing a word search. Students can choose key verses from the passages to memorize and also summarize what they read.
