It’s almost February with lots of reasons to celebrate and enjoy family activities

- American Heart Month and time to exercise and eat heat-healthy foods
- Black History Month so find some lesser known American History patriots to celebrate like Elizabeth Mom Bet Freeman.
- Bird Feeding Month to keep those tweeting critters happy put out some treats for them like berries and seeds.
- 2nd: Ground Hog Day for those tired of the cold to hope spring weather might come early. Look for signs of srping like new buds, birds migrating, and animals shedding winter fur.
- 5: National Women and Girls in sports day. Play a sport.
- Give kids a smile! Start the day with pancakes!
- 9th: Superbowl and popcorn day, so get out the popcorn and play some super-fun games as a family.
- 8-14 Love Makes the World Go Round, but laughter keeps is from getting dizzy so pass around the jokes.
- 14: Valentine’s Day so express your love to God, family, and firneds.
- 14: Library Lover’s Day so check out a book.
- National Gumdrop Day. Try making gumdrop flowers.
- 16: National Almond Day, another of the 7 species of Israel and they are full of great nutrients.
- 16-22: National Engineer’s Week so try experiments and fun for budding engineers.
- 16-25 Date fruit week. Date trees are one of the seven speicies God gave the Israelites. Check out how they are packed with nutrients. Stuff some with nuts or peanut butter.
- 17: Random Acts of Kindness Day, so plan some kind deeds and do them.
- 27: President’s Day so pray for the President.
- 21: National Caregivers Day. Do something helpful for a caregiver.
- 21: George Washington’s birthday. Time to learn more about the first President.
- 26: National Pistachio Day. Mentioned in Genesis 43:11, they have grown in the middle east for thousands of years. These nuts are a good source of fiber, vitamins, and minerals, including B6, phosphorus, potassium, and thiamin. Look up how these vitamins help your health.
