Book Review: 50 New Testament Stories by Storytellers by Rob James

If you are in ministry, are a storyteller, or are looking for new ways to share well-known stories from the New Testament with your young ones, 50 New Testament Stories for Storytellers by Rob James is an excellent resource.
As the author states in his introduction, these retellings do not need to be followed word-for-word. Instead, storytellers should feel free to use this book as a foundation to share these key events from the New Testament time and again, changing things up along the way to make them their own.
Starting with the Annunciation through Paul’s travels spreading the Good News, 50 New Testament Stories for Storytellers offers a way to bring the New Testament to life. The reader will find the parables and miracles of Jesus, milestones in his life, the calling of the Apostles and so much more within its pages. Accompanied by powerful illustrations from Amanda Ruston, each story also includes “Ideas for Telling the Story,” which help you make the storytelling interactive for your audience.
While surprised by the suggested reading age, as someone who spent decades in children’s ministry, I truly enjoyed reading 50 New Testament Stories for Storytellers and believe it to be a valuable resource for many.
