The True Story of God’s Creation, a cheerful book for Earth Day
Every year, as Earth Day approaches, we are reminded of the beauty and wonder of our planet—a masterpiece intricately woven by God’s hands. “The True Story of God’s Creation” by Christian children’s author Laura Yang compares the biblical creation story to the cultural account of how the world came to be. In a cheerful, Seuss-like rhyming narrative full of fantastic illustrations, readers of all ages will see how God’s perfect earth was formed.
This Earth Day, let’s not celebrate the creation but the Creator! This book will allow you to discover how God made the Earth and how the world’s theory of the Big Bang cannot explain the miracles that exist within the Earth.
Laura Yang is a passionate Christian children’s author who believes we must be brave in our faith and share Jesus more. 80% of Christians hesitate to share their faith. Her keynote and workshop, “7 Steps to Brave Faith: Simple Strategies to Share Jesus,” equips believers to turn everyday moments into powerful opportunities to share the gospel.
She has trained over 2,000 individuals to confidently tap into their God-given, brave faith. Her children’s book, The True Story of God’s Creation, is one way we can use Earth Day’s everyday moments to share Jesus with others.
History of Earth Day
The first Earth Day was in 1970 and began to raise public awareness about environmental issues. Wisconsin Senator Gaylord Nelson was concerned about pollution. On April 22, 1970, about twenty million Americans participated in rallies and marches. The event led to the Creation of the Environmental Protection Agency, the Clean Air Act, and the Clean Water Act. Since then, Earth Day has become a global event celebrated on April 22nd by almost 200 countries.
What should we celebrate?
In Romans 1:25, Paul warns us not to worship and serve the creature over the creator. If we are not careful and focused, Earth Day can become a celebration of the Earth when we should celebrate the one who created it. Therefore, finding Christian resources to share with kids on Earth Day may be challenging. Our children must understand the biblical account against what the world tells them. Yang’s book addresses how the world views creation and the unbiblical theories established to explain God’s miracles in fun-to-read lyrics.
Why The True Story of Creation
If you enjoy reading Dr. Seuss books, you’ll love reading Yang’s book, The True Story of Creation. In an interview with Christian children’s author Laura Yang, she told me that if she read a Dr. Seuss book to kids, they immediately listened, laughed, and enjoyed the story more than others. We all know Theodor Seuss Geisel’s talent. His books will forever be read to children everywhere. Laura Yang knew she wanted children to enjoy biblical stories as much as they did Dr. Seuss books. She has successfully captured the fun rhythm and rhyme of The Lorax and other Dr. Seuss books. The illustrations even mirror the fun characters from a Seuss-type book.
