We’ve come to the final part of our study for preteens and teens about the life of Joshua. It takes a closer look at the giving of land to the Levites, the setting apart of the cities of refuge, and Joshua’s final instructions to the people. Let’s help the preteens and teens in our lives dig deeply into the final chapters of Joshua and learn from what God has to teach them.

This resource focuses on Joshua 20-24. It looks at God’s faithfulness to all His promises to His people, the designation of the cities of refuge, the giving of land to the Levites, the return of some of the tribes to the land across the Jordan River, the building of an altar of witness, Joshua’s warnings to the people, and the renewal of the covenant at Shechem.

The activities encourage kids to slow down and carefully consider the text as they read and answer the questions. It asks them to consider the cities of refuge and issues surrounding them. It encourages them to see how regularly reading and thinking deeply on what God has said is a vital part of walking faithfully with God. Other activities include memorizing key verses, completing word puzzles, summarizing what they have studied, and more.
