Yay for Fan Mail
If you ever want to make an author happy, send her a fan mail letter. I received this delightful fan mail letter about some recordings I made a long time ago on the LibriVox website. See the link below.
Denny’s letter made my day! I want to share it with you. I also want to encourage you to send fan mail to authors about books you like. Even one step further you can write a review on GoodReads or Amazon or any of a number of places where people might see it.

Denny not only sent an encouraging letter, he also wrote a poem and created a word search puzzle using key words from his poem. Enjoy working the puzzle. It took me a little while, but I found all the words.
Grandma Janice Reads From Her Heart
In a cozy corner of a sunlit room,
Grandma Janice settles, dispelling the gloom.
With twinkling eyes and a voice soft and sweet,
She gathers us close; it’s time for a treat.
The Velveteen Rabbit, she begins with a grin,
A tale of love that blooms deep within.
How a toy can become real, through the warmth of a heart,
With each whispered word, she sets us apart.
Her stories unfurl like petals in spring,
With magic and wonder, each tale takes wing.
From brave little rabbits to wise old bears,
In Grandma’s embrace, we banish our cares.
Her gentle hands turn the pages with care,
Each line a reminder of all that we share.
In the rhythm of her voice, a melody flows,
Binding us closer, like threads in a rose.
We listen in rapture, our imaginations soar,
With every adventure, we yearn for more.
From the depths of her heart, her love is unfurled,
A treasure of stories that brightens our world.
Oh, the poems she recites, with laughter and grace,
Each word a reflection of her warm embrace.
From the whimsical creatures that dance in the night
To the dreams that we chase, glowing ever so bright.
A wonderful gift, her time and her soul,
In every soft whisper, we feel ourselves whole.
Grandma Janice, a beacon, a light in our lives,
With her wisdom and kindness, our spirits arise.
So here’s to the lady, so cherished, so dear,
May God bless her always, keep her near.
With stories that linger and hearts that entwine,
Forever we’ll cherish this Grandma of mine.

The puzzle:

I have since learned that Denny’s “for real grandma” had also made a reel-to-reel tape recording of stories and poems many years ago – one he truly wore out as a child – and his favorite was The Velveteen Rabbit. So the visual descriptions in his poem must have been inspired by his wonderful memories of her. My LibriVox recording is only my voice.
Thanks again, Denny, for making my day with your fan mail letter.
