Pronouns are Important — 7 Comments

  1. Ava,
It is never easy reading anything negative about our work as authors, but most heartbreaking when you realize the world’s view of our Heavenly Father. I agree that the breakdown of families and especially our earthly father relationships contributes a great deal to how we posture ourselves before God as Father. However, if we truly allow the Holy Spirit to transform our lives by the renewing of our minds, this Fatherly relationship will be transformed as well.

    Blessings,
    Dawn

    • Thank you, Dawn. The negative review really didn’t hurt, especially since all the other reviews are positive. But the reviewer’s words revealed deep wounds…wounds that can only be healed by the Father he/she rejects. So sad.

  2. This is such an important post, Ava. You’ve stated it all so well. I agree, that so much of our world’s problems begin with not acknowledging who God really is. Thanks for having the courage to post what could be viewed as a negative review of your book. For me, it makes me want to get it even more, which I will do this afternoon! Bless you!

  3. This just goes to show once again how our society is dumbing down the holiness and awesomeness of God. Good for you, Ava, for sticking to your beliefs about who God is and how we must refer to Him. This book is a great devotional book for anyone who wants to know God more intimiately and leanr how He works in our everyday lives. I have read it and I give it 5 stars and 2 thumbs up!

  4. You have said it so well, Ava. It hurts to see humanity become so demoralized from year to year. And the most vocal are the dissenters who will stop at nothing to desecrate the God who created them and who died on a cross to give them His Peace. We must remember that if they scorned Him who was Perfect, how much more so will they scorn us who proclaim His Name. (Capital letters fully intended.)
