The first and last pages of this sweet board book are scenes around the Christmas tree, with presents, stockings, a little nativity set on the mantle, children and pets snuggled together, reading with mom, or asleep on the couch with Christmas cookies laid out for Santa. So all of the familiar Christmas fun is acknowledged.
But these pages also remind that it is Jesus’ birthday and in sweet rhyme, they thank God for Christmas, and for Jesus. And in between is the story of the angel coming to Mary, the road to Bethlehem, Mary and Joseph needing a place to stay, the Star, Jesus’s birth in the stable, the animals around the manger, the shepherds in the field, and the three kings. All in adorable rhyme and just perfect for little ones.
I love all of the Snuggle Time board books, with Cee Biscoe’s darling illustrations. This is a wonderful book to help teach your child about the greatest gift that came at Christmas so long ago.
