God’s Protection — 27 Comments

  1. “In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety” (Psalm 4:8 NIV).
I love the purpose the author has for this book. I have used this verse many times when ending my day. It’s also a great “tuck-me-in” verse with little ones…or big ones. 🙂

  2. I don’t need to be entered in the giveaway, since I just won a copy of this beautiful book! I just wanted to share one of my favorite verses about protection, which is Psalm 91:4: “He will cover you with his feathers and under his wings you will find refuge.”

  3. We are still sort of new parents, with an almost 2 year old, learning how to introduce God into his life more and more.

  4. Deuteronomy 31:6
Be Strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you.

    • (And this would be a perfect book to read to our foster loves, our adopted son in a second time around family, and our granddaughter who is living with us.)
One of my favorite Crystal Bowman comments is when my then first grader came home talking about “If Peas Could Taste Like Candy.” When I asked her if she thought I should buy it, she replied, “These poems are absolutely perfect for 1st graders!” (And to put that in perspective, she will soon be 32 and we have her daughter starting 1st grade in the Fall!)

    • Isaiah 65:24 New International Version (NIV)

      24
      Before they call I will answer;
while they are still speaking I will hear.

  5. I love in Ezekial 16:8 how God spreads his winga over us to keep us safe and cover us when we are vulnerable but then EZEKIAL 16:8b gets even better!
“I swore an oath to you and entered into a covenant with you, and you became Mine,” says the Lord your God.

He is our protector and we belong to him. Beautiful.

  6. My very favorite verse is Psalm 91:4, He will cover you with his feathers and under his wings you will find refuge. I’d love a copy of this book to share with my sweet preschool Chickadees!!

  7. Psalm 91:4 New Living Translation (NLT)
He will cover you with his feathers.
He will shelter you with his wings.
His faithful promises are your armor and protection.

We keep chickens. I’ve seen how the mother hen gathers her young under her wings to protect hem. How much more our heavenly father will protect us under his wings.
